Only one runner on the first day of the three day meeting at Southwell, but Carnac was another winner for the McCabe racing team at 15/8. Carnac broke well and led 2f out, prominent most of the way but headed 6f from home, led again 3f out entering the home straight and then went on from the 2f pole going 4 lengths clear and winning easily.
