Yesterday the Alan McCabe Racing Team managed a fine win in the first race at the Newmarket meeting. Daruband ridden by Frankie Dettori won The poptelecom.co.uk 0843 Free Divert to Mobile Handicap Stakes over 8f at 7/1. Being held up mid-division he made smooth headway well over 2f out and led entering the final furlong and kept on well towards the finish winning by one and a half lengths. Frankie almost completed a double for the stable but was narrowly beaten into second place on Showboating in the last race of the evening.
