After speaking to Alan today we can confirm that both him and Shane Kelly were very satisfied with Bellas introduction to the racecourse. Shane reported that she jumped from the stalls well and took up a good position behind the mount of Paul Hanagan, but the track was running quite deep and Bella wasn't too impressed by the kickback, which Shane described as "fierce", and this resulted in Bella taking avoiding action by dropping herself back. When Shane pulled her out and clear of the kickback she began to run on which was encouraging, although a little late. Also he commented that Bella ran green in the race changing her legs frequently, but will have learned a lot from the run and will come on for it.
Alan and Shane described Bella, as a tall leggy filly with a lot of scope, and with her nice pedigree when she fills out, will develop into a fine racehorse. Alan is frustrated at not been able to run her on the turf, due to weather and going conditions, as this would enable him to learn more about her, but he believes there is plenty to look forward too in the future.
She has come out of the race in good condition, and as eaten up this morning.
We will be back in touch as soon as we have news of Bellas next entry
