Syndicate News Una Bella Cosa

Friday 14/12/12

Bella put up a magnificent performance over a mile at Kempton last night in a race that was not ideal for her. From a wide draw she came across to the nearside rail to take up the running and led to the closing stages of the race, when Pairumani Prince, Day In Day Out and Misleading Promise came alongside. Even then she battled on gamely to the line to finish fourth, and wasn't even blowing when she returned to the unsaddling enclosure. Interestingly she was the first filly home, the first three being two colts and a gelding. Alan and Seb Sanders were very pleased with her run and her willingness and toughness to run on when headed. Seb commented that she has a high knee action, suggesting she will be well suited to Southwell AW and soft going on the turf. She ran the race wearing cheek pieces, which in hindsight might have been her downfall, she would not have seen the other horses coming and may have reacted earlier if she had. All who saw the race were well pleased with her effort and can't wait for her to tackle in excess of a mile during next season.
Alan reported she has come out of her race in good order.
