Una Bella Cosa finished a distant 5 of 5 at Yarmouth yesterday. Having led from the break up to the 3f pole, she seemed to stumble on the undulations and weakened from there. The jockey reported that Bella hated the ground, which was good to firm but not jarring, and which was a great concern at the time of declaration. The weather was absolutely brilliant and was some consolation to an expensive day with no return. Not surprisingly she won the best turned out award being miles ahead in appearance to her rivals.
We can report that Bella has come out of the race in good order today, with no signs of stiffness or lameness and she has eaten up. While the current weather prevails we may have to find an all weather event we can get into and compete. There are 5 meetings at Wolverhampton, 2 at Kempton and 3 at Southwell in August but all weather events tend to be oversubscribed, with trainers resorting to the artificial surface to get their horses a run. As reported earlier Bella is entered at 4:55pm Southwell Thursday 8th August over 7f, but is not guaranteed a run.
